  1. “It feels so foreign to them that the further we take them for shelter, the quicker they turn around and come back.” – Kisa Cocoran. That statement highlights the importance of having LOCAL services to help the community instead of having to drive many miles to provide assistance.

    • I would have actually preferred this when I left in December 2012 but it wasn’t an option in my county, and two other counties didn’t have any space available. I wasn’t comfortable with the thought I could be putting family at any kind of risk, but certain people insisted. No one (man or woman) should ever feel like they are being backed into a corner and have to make this kind of choice. Ever.
