A few days ago, when I decided to throw my 1980 music selections into the void, I had a flashback to VH1 and Pop-Up Video. Factoids, humorous and purely informational, would pop up across the screen with reckless abandon as you watched, redirecting your attention away from the video as you tried to keep up with pop-pop-pop of the bubbles. Since WordPress doesn’t provide me with this option, I present to you this homage to a prediction made in 1981 on a San Francisco news channel about… the internet.
