Six posts in, and I have finally come to grips with the dark secret I have kept stashed in the closet of my room all this time. If I ever attempted to create a soundtrack that summed up my life thus far and make it available for sale, I would have to package it by decade and pawn it off on unsuspecting insomniacs on a 2 a.m. infomercial. There are just too many contenders, and this is just in reference to my introductory clip alone! However, being that it is my blog, and you are subject to my every whim, I have decided to bend my “rules” and not pick one, or two, but three introductory clips for the price of one! (We don’t have to let on that they are free!) Now to the business at hand!
In the early part of the year, Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, and Emilio Estevez misbehaved their way onto the silver screen. Despite the rating, the three of us were allowed to watch it anyway, and in the end, my favorite part of the movie was the guy you least expect getting the prissy, rich girl. Fist pump, underlings! FIST PUMP!
After the shenanigans of the above unsavory crew of misfits, the world of theoretical science took the stage for one of the summer releases. Burning rubber never looked so geeky! Some girls may have also been bitten by the Michael J. Fox bug. Multiple times. I was not one of them.
And a brief walk down memory lane…..
I was a happy little chunk in 1985. This was the year that I determined that they cast the incorrect actor to play me in The Goonies! [Yes the photo above is really me!] Really, Jeff Cohen, do you think you can out-Chunk me??? Huh, do you? 🙂
Welcome to When the Beats Strike: My Life in Music 1985, the year of the underdog that just caters to the stereotype that the bad guy always gets the girl (Kerwyn isn’t bad so *raspberries to you*), Jeff Cohen shamelessly shafted me and took the role of Chunk in The Goonies, befriending Sloth along the way, and annual vacations to Florida became the “in” thing for my family to subject me to.. I mean do. Just wait until the first year I rain out the Daytona! This shall be your recompense for endless hours of torture.. I mean family friendly fun watching cars go in circles for hours and hours of my life that I can never retrieve! *Evil, maniacal laughter*
